“They Blandly Overturn Many Centuries of Civilization in a Day’s Work”

Radford University’s Professor of Political Science Matthew Franck on the recent pro-homosexual marriage decision by the Iowa Supreme Court:

… it speaks volumes about the extent to which American judicial power, having burst free of all constraints, is now in the grip of a banal routinization of tyranny so complete that the tyrants do not recognize their own character as they blandly overturn many centuries of civilization in a day’s work.

This reminds me of many, many Bible passages, but this one hits the nail on the head – “When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule, the people groan,” Proverbs 29:2.
