Romans 1:7 – Ask and Read

The other day, I read Romans 1:7:

To all those in Rome who are loved by God and called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Then I asked the following question:

According to this verse, what does it mean to be “beloved of God”?

Then, to answer the question, I re-read the verse and found six connecting answers:

  1. It means you are called by God to a holy one (“saint”).
  2. It means you have claim to God’s grace and peace.
  3. It means you have God for your Father.
  4. It means you have Jesus Christ for your Lord.
  5. It means you owe all of this to God’s love, not your own.
  6. It means you are an object of God’s special love in Christ.

You who know Jesus, these blessings are yours! Let us meditate on them together!
